She weeps bitter tears.
The world looks away
and covers its ears.
Her children are hungry.
The world knows, but always
someone else will help.
Her children are dying.
But the world cannot help,
not when the latest trend appears.
Her children are alone and afraid.
The world cares too much
about money, sex, and stature.
Their eyes, yellow with death plead.
Oh world, look away no longer
from the children of Africa.
She weeps bitter tears.
